Seems like the blond Oblama bitch doesn’t want to answer. Mr. President fire this idiot.

State Department is full of sewer rats.

Grasshopper

It’s taken many years to get them placed and the 8 years that Obummer was in office just accelerated it. Time to flush the rats out once and for all

She was a career military intelligence officer. A colonel in the 101 airborne division. A national security advisor to Vice-President Mike Pence. Not an Obama clone or sewer rat. Be careful who you tarnish with your broad brushes. Just because she would not disclose classified material in an open hearing is not a reason to disparage her. She offered to testify in a closed hearing. I like Ted Cruz and am not sure why he was pressing her on this. He knows it is classified information.

Apache 6
Apache 6

I think, can’t recall if that’s her……she does look familiar , can’t remember that G2 split tail. During the 1st Gulf
War……. I remember the “Left Hook” very well. We were hunting the scud sites.
Robert thank you for posting the background info.

Robert, Sen. Cruz stated time and again that he was not asking about classified Intel, but, inquiring if she thought that letting Iran to continue to generate nuclear materials for weapons to be in the best interest of America. She bounced around in her seat like a 13 year old girl is pissed she got caught and wants to lash out. I know, I have 4 grown daughters. This woman is prevaricating by herself better than all 4 of my girls at the same time. It was a simple question that should have elicited a simple yes or no answer.

Synopsis– IT WASN’T A QUESTION ABOUT CLASSIFIED INTEL!!!

Truthseeker
Truthseeker

I did not hear one straight answer to any of his questions. He made it clear he was not asking for classified intel. Her last answer spoke volumes.

RandyLee
RandyLee

she wouldn’t even talk about the the information that is public. she wasn’t interested in talking to Cruz at all. and he was right to press her on it. her govt doublespeak pretty much says all we need to know about her.

And regardless of her background, she is clearly another Deep State drone. Fire her a$$, NOW.

Very few things should be classified, and
Iran already knows what they are discussing.

My opinion is that nothing should be classified. If you can’t talk about it in open then it probably is wrong to do.

So because she supposedly has the right pedigree she should be able to skirt around congressional oversight? She was asked to comment on things that are public knowledge, she acted as if her little cute answers (with the little hair flip or a wink and a nod) should be enough, they weren’t. Ever hear of power corrupts, you think you know her, you think her being in the snake pit can’t influence her ? The state Dept. is the worst of the snake pits.

Lord Lebara
Lord Lebara

You should know that “career intelligence officer” especially in Big Army is a gateway to the deep state.

He specifically referred to declassified and publicly available portions of the intelligence product and asked her to give an explanation of why the Iranians were allowed waivers to refine uranium in a facility designed to conduct it at weapons grade.

She had no answer because the answer is “politics”. The optics of an Iran deal mattered more to the previous admin than the nuts and bolts of execution and enforcement and furthermore this alone justified Trump pulling out of it and that is the argument she refuses to give public credence to and it is precisely because of her decades long Army and civilian intel career.

Ranger K
Ranger K

Robert, you do realize the 101st Airborne division isn’t airborne right? And army intelligence is an oxymoron. I don’t know anything about her other than what you listed here but VP Pence doesn’t have a 100% perfect record with his advisors nor does president Trump. Cruz is completely correct in asking why the State Dept is continuing to give Obama era waivers to a country Allah-bent on destroying all of western civilization.

Snipes McTopshelf
Snipes McTopshelf

Robert, with all due respect, he was inquiring about public information.

Retirednottired
Retirednottired

He TOLD her straight up: let’s talk about ONLY the declassified info! He was NOT asking for secret info to be disclosed in public. Maybe you should watch the video again and get your fingers out of your ears. She dodged every question Ted asked her, regardless of classified status.

Auric
Auric

Only in the mind of a bureaucrat, which I suspect Robert is, could open source documents suddenly morph into classified status when pressed to address their contents which are in clear conflict with the fictional and double speak testimony we just heard from this empowered female.
Don’t you just love these Government types that hide behind generic resume descriptors that they give themselves and tout as default righteousness and unimpeachable purity of motive and deed.
You self serving arrogant bureaucrats make me sick.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t appointed during the last administration, but under this one. That said, she rose to influential positions in the Army during the time when the last administration was driving good officers out. She also had close ties to Gen Casey, bless his heart.

There are too many people who seem to think that Trump could remove every Deep State sloth on the first day of his administration. Hardly. There are THOUSANDS of them, entrenched in a broad range of departments at a broad range of levels. There are also those who think that Trump can hire and appoint ONLY the right kind of people right off the bat. Hardly. People lie about their beliefs and intentions, people are recommended by other secret DS types. Look at how many WH staff have had to be turned over in just 2-1/2 years.

It will take YEARS to weed out all the enemies of the US who work for the government. Trump is making a good start, but he will not even complete the job when his 8 years is up. Pray hard and pray long that whomever comes after Trump continues the task, or all that has been gained will be lost again.

I like Texas Ted, don’t get me wrong. But someone needs to follow the constitution (to the letter) and find out who is breaking the law. Not good for us to do so any more than the left. That’s how we got Obama.
Too many questions about too many people to list for those who hold the reins of power in DC.
Those seeking political office should have to prove that they are eligible (to US the American people), if they can’t or won’t then they should never be allowed to run.

She is “deep state” in high definition. She is everything that Pompeo needs to clean out of State.

She says near the end of the segment: “I would say that’s your assessment, Senator. I would not characterize it as such.”

In that response to Sen. Cruz, she’s giving her “thumbs up”, yes, it’s absolutely cool for Iran to possess the tools necessary to create nuclear weapons, and other WMD, and bury them in a secret (e.g. no outside viewers) bunker in a near bomb proof (hehehe.. but not for the USAF or USN) location buried in the side of a mountain. Waiver approved!!

Look at her title, once again. She’s “arms control and international security”. She’s a John Kerry State Department type, regardless of where she came from (i.e. apparently, she claimed she came from VP Pence’s staff). Well, I characterize her “assessment” as a Marxist threat to US security, at worst, or a fool in a position of responsibility that she has no business being in, at best.

Paging SecState Pompeo: Do you know where your nuclear arms control policy is originating from?

Just Curiosity

Something wrong with this picture. Why did Trump nominate her ??? At least that is what I have found in my search . . .

OldSaltUSNR
OldSaltUSNR

Usually, the suspect nominations come from recommendations by someone. Remember, that Tillerson was Trump’s first SecState, and if your SecState nominee says “I want these 100 people in my department”, a President is pretty much going to give him what he wants, absent an objection with context from someone the President respects more. Remember, the President essentially had a hostile Secretary of State and Kelly as a hostile Chief of Staff, while guys like Bannon and others advise were rejected (after it traveled via Kelly).

I’ve written before that the one should expect an outsider to have problems naming good people to his staff, because by definition, he’s a political outsider without a deep insider bench. The President relied on unreliable advice from people who he thought supported his agenda, during his first two years.

Yes, that’s a “negative” for the President, but these are more or less “forced errors”, i.e. the price we paid for not having a Jeb Bush type guy in the White House. Sen Cruz (my guy) would probably have not done much better, because he was only elected Senator about four years prior to the 2016 election, but he would have at least had a running head start (and he would have brought in Texans; that can’t be all bad). As much as D.C. insiders suck, they DO know the battle ground better than an outsider.

I’ll take the new outsiders for Federal office, for the next say…oh…i dunno, maybe 20 years, over insiders who reliably tilt left after 10 years in D.C..

I would be happy if we were restored our proper ratio of congressmen to constituents.
There is no amendment changing that ratio from 30,000 to 1, to 750,000 to 1.
This is exactly why we no longer have representation.
And then repeal the 16th and 17th amendment, and we would have a chance to survive as well.
That isn’t going to happen until our proper Congress ratio is restored.

Retirednottired
Retirednottired

That would make Congress so unwieldy in size that nothing could ever get done (not necessarily a bad thing, I grant). More important would be to return selection of Senators to the State governments where it belongs. This would instantly change the balance in DC, giving the States and thereby the people, the voice that was intended by the Founders.

Just try to get that done, though. Like asking 100 Senators to cut off their own heads.

OldSaltUSNR

“Eliminate anything Google from your life..gmail,google search etc etc”

That I can do, except for that pesky cell phone I carry with Google’s Android OS. The only real alternative that I am aware of is Apple’s Iphone OS, and Apple has nearly as many “snowflake” problems as Google.

One would hope that capitalism in the USA would result in real competition in the Tech industry. One might surmise that the fact that a few behemoths control about 95% of tech means that Trump’s Justice Department has some anti-trust issues to explore. Monopolies don’t “just happen” because of superior business practices, because competition rewards ingenuity and risk over (corporate) bureaucracy, which is what these monopolies have all become. Since there appears to be no effective competition, something other than market forces is inhibiting it. Something illegal.

It’s the same sort of conclusion one can reach when, for example, 95%+ of college professors are progressives, 95%+ of the entertainment industry are progs, 95% of government employees are progs, and so forth. Namely, that there’s an invisible, but bright infra-red-line hiring barrier, e.g. “no conservatives allowed”. By contrast, look at MLB or the NFL; teams rarely turn down talent due to ideology, because real talent is so difficult and expensive to identify and acquire. Now, compare that to the management organizations, which have strongly trended progressive (at the same moment in history that these sports teams are increasingly losing fans … imagine that coincidence). Front office (and Commissioner’s office) is staffed by lawyers, PR managers, and other rather mundane professionals, who are actually a dime a dozen, hence, the prog tilt.

But, of course, I am digressing sharply from the topic at hand (probably because I just read an article with comments about the new White House tip line American’s can call to report if they’ve been censored blacklisted from social media sites; kind of pre-occupied the mind, then you made your comment, and …. away we go.)

Sande

Cruz was ineligible to be president.
He was born in a foreign country, and with one parent also a foreign citizen.
In other words, both he and Rubio have a heart for Cuba as much as for our country.

The same is probably true for obama, and either Kenya,
or Great Britain, as his alleged father is a Kenyan with an English citizenship.

Great Britain isn’t really Great Britain anymore.
Nigel Forage might be able to save her, but I doubt it.
Islam is her biggest problem and I’m not sure he gets it.

Many politicians in Europe and in the USA
are still pretending there is a difference between moderate and devout moslems.

Because he trusts the people who give him these names.
Kavanaugh for example, wasn’t on his list of 20, but he nominated him anyway.
When he said they all wanted him, that should have been his first clue.
Now we have another “John Roberts” on the court.
Then only thing he likes more than predicate is increased judicial power.
Hopefully President Trump is learning who to listen to.
Whoever told him about Bill Barr for instance, may be someone to listen to again.

Cruz is about 4 years too late with this kind of questioning.
Trump is applying as much pressure as he can to Iran without starting a war. Let him keep up the pressure up the way he sees fit.
She is just being a loyal soldier and is willing to talk in private. She is not smooth enough to be a politician.
Cruz is grandstanding against the Trump Administration here, not the Obama Administration. .
