The “Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018,” legislation introduced in the House, carries a potential 15-year prison sentence for those caught engaging in behaviors typically associated with the “antifa” movement of anti-fascist activists.

Under the act, anyone “wearing a mask” or in disguise who “injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person … in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege” would be subject to a fine or up to 15 years in prison.

The bill was introduced in the House last month but received renewed attention on Tuesday after Mike Cernovich encouraged his followers to call their representatives and “let them know what you think” about the legislation.

The bill was introduced by Republican Rep. Dan Donovan (N.Y.) and is co-sponsored by GOP Reps. Pete King (N.Y.), Paul Gosar (Ariz.) and Ted Budd( N.C.).

The bill is currently in the House Judiciary Committee.

I did. My reps hadn’t heard of the act, but hopefully they’ll look into it.

More laws! I thought violence was already outlawed?

    • rocketride July 11th, 2018 at 11:30 am

The problem is that a disguised person might commit a crime and escape, with no one being able to identify the varmint, because of the disguise.

I understand what you are pointing out.
I see a crisis, now we need more laws. Seems that is what the left wants.
Enforcement is random that’s why this happens.

      How about open hunting season

If given the opportunity for a free shot at Michael Moore’s chin with the promise of complete anonymity, who wouldn’t take it?

Would the answer be the same without this anonymity?

      • Waiting on midterms July 11th, 2018 at 1:47 pm

Which chin do we get the shot at? Choices choices!

      • Zitz July 11th, 2018 at 3:01 pm

The new law extends existing federal laws that target the KKK to apply to Antifa vermin too.

If existing punishments are good enough for the KKK, they are doubly good for Antifa queers.

Antifa are seditious domestic terrorists the same as the KKK.

The next punk group to be targeted with a seditious domestic terrorist label is BLM.

Kane, thank you for this site.

    You’re a blessing!

Make it MANDATORY so the Judiciary has no room to be lenient. I am tired of these Liberal Luna-crat judges writing their own rules.

  5. Neil July 11th, 2018 at 11:15 am

More show that will die in the senate if it even makes it that far…really tired of this feckless republican congress.

When you give a certain group the ability to create money out of thin air naturally they are going to control “EVERYTHING.”
Everyone else is just left commenting on the fallout.

And do something about those burka babes. How in the hell can you leer and lust when the hardware is hiding in a tent? you can, but those tents make it more difficult for the imagination challenged, like myself.

    • Gato July 11th, 2018 at 3:45 pm

No, It just allows the imagination to run wild.
      Imagination trumps reality every time.
You think sexy babe when the reality is fat slob.

    Is a ‘respirator’ a mask?

  10. Mark July 11th, 2018 at 12:30 pm

What about the “Unmasking Act on George Soros” who pays for these masked hoodlums to create havoc?

    • Darryl July 11th, 2018 at 1:46 pm

Soros, the Clintons, the Bushes or the undocumented president could kill someone at high noon in a crowded square ….. and get off scot-free.

Justice is only enforced on the little people.

      Soros= Central bankers bag man

Antifa will be prosecuted when the FBI lovebirds are held accountable for their actions by the DOJ.

  12. Whitehouse Clown July 11th, 2018 at 1:12 pm

Made the call, but Joe Wilson, a classic back bencher still does not have the coconuts.

  13. Art July 11th, 2018 at 5:04 pm

They should extend this law to police who cover their faces and then commit crimes.

  14. Taco Tuesday Welder July 11th, 2018 at 6:04 pm

My bet….even if it actually makes it to a vote, the commie…i mean dems wont vote for it and enough Rinos wont. Propbably wont even go to a vote

  15. JM July 11th, 2018 at 6:40 pm

Great law. ANTIFA can run but they can’t hide. I bet Paul Ryan votes against it. He’s bloated, he carries so much water for the left.

Now give us our Wall, you worthless RINO GOP Congress! It’s been two years… we VOTED for you.

  16. Riserdor July 11th, 2018 at 7:40 pm

Just imagine if media did their jobs and weren’t complicit in the violence and coverups how different things would be right now for the country?

  17. Gen. Ripper July 11th, 2018 at 8:03 pm

I’m all for it, but everyone knows the FBI will enforce this new law like they enforce all the crimes committed by the Clinton Global Initiative, FBI agents, DOJ attorneys, Democratic Political Appointees.

  18. Anonymous July 11th, 2018 at 9:43 pm

Wait until the local police try.
They will quickly be told by the masked cop car pooper ….
“Don’t interfere with a federal investigation.”

  19. Anonymous July 11th, 2018 at 9:56 pm

    Let’s just start shooting Antifa.

    • Abel July 11th, 2018 at 11:05 pm

      Anonymous wins!
      Viva la Croatia!

  20. Terry jh July 12th, 2018 at 11:07 am

Let me get this straight…it takes an act of CONGRESS to make people not disguise themselves while assaulting others….

  21. Anonymous July 12th, 2018 at 11:47 am

I would prefer this law at the state level but unfortunately there are states that would never pass it. Several southern states passed such laws aimed at the KKK but have used them against antifa. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/26/us/protests-masks-laws.html & https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/04/19/police_at_auburn_u_force_antifa_to_remove_masks_at_anti-richard_spencer_protest.html

  22. Barry July 12th, 2018 at 6:18 pm

Never pass in any election year good luck. the left is suicidal that’s ALL THEY GOT NOW unemployed don’t want a real job, pot, drug, live in moms basement LOSERS. The democrat party is finished and will never rebound. What’s next for these idiots abolish all POLICE DEPARTMENTS AS THEIR PLATFORM???

  23. TEWS_Pilot July 12th, 2018 at 10:05 pm

The road to some bad place is paved with good intentions. Hopefully this law will not be used to punish Conservatives or other law abiding citizens in accordance with the “law of unintended consequences.”

  24. Anonymous July 13th, 2018 at 1:32 pm

It does say “Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law”. Am I mistaken or does the wording also make masked police riot squads criminals for using violence in the suppression of a protest? Couldn’t a case be made that their actions to shut down a protest using tear gas, shields and night sticks constitute a violation of an individual’s right to speech if they are suited up in their riot gear which includes full face shields (masks)?

Not that the po-po will ever be held to the same standard as us serfs, but it raises an interesting question.

  25. Berzrkr50 July 15th, 2018 at 7:20 pm

I say pass the law for no other reason than there are thousands of lonely prison inmates in need of good “wives”. It might help keep the inmates out of trouble…
